The Position: The role of the Assistant Director of STRTP is to provide supervision to the operations of the STRTP program, and to serve as the Administrator’s Designee in the absence of the Director of the STRTP.

 

Compensation and Benefits:

The pay range we’re offering is $60,000 - $75,000 annually depending on experience.

Qualifications:

  • Current License from the State of California Board of Behavioral Sciences for LMFT or LCSW
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in DMH-contracted mental health settings.
  • STRTP experience highly preferred. 
  • Be willing to become certified as a group home administrator.
  • Word Processing; Excellent Writing Skills, General Office Skills; Typing of 50 WPM
  • Bi-Lingual (Spanish) highly preferred
  • Must pass pre-employment physical exam, TB and drug screening
  • Ability to commute to various sites on campus
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel and lift 10 pounds

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in collaboration with the Director of the STRTP to supervise, direct, and evaluate the operations of the STRTP to ensure compliance with regulations, contract standards, accreditation standards, and McKinley’s policies.
  • Directly supervise all assigned staff.
  • Actively work with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure that residents are receiving adequate services.
  • Assist in ensuring policies are followed so that the safety of all children in placement is maintained.
  • Actively participate in the intake process, including reviewing all potential intake packets when indicated.
  • Be available during evenings, weekends, and on-call as per schedule.
  • Assist in taking an active role in the development of the STRTP budget and managing expenditures.
  • Assist in organizing the work of the unit staff and activities on campus.
  • Communicate with regulatory bodies (Community Care Licensing, County Welfare Offices, and the Department of Mental) and participate in audits/investigations.
  • Assist in assessing operations and make recommendations to the Director and SVP of Human Services for continual improvement.
  • Participate with Human Resources in the recruitment, hiring, evaluating, and terminating staff. 
  • Assist in developing a plan for the orientation, development, and training of staff to meet Title 22 standards.
  • Assist in reviewing complaints made by children or their authorized representative(s) and assist in deciding upon the action to be taken. 
  • Assist in documenting and submitting all significant incidents to the required departments and partnering agencies. 
  • Observe and interact with staff, children, and others to ensure the quality of care for children and program services.
  • Work with the mental health team to ensure that children are receiving intensive Mental Health Services.
  • Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary and CFT team to ensure that NSP’s and treatment planning demonstrate on-going progress in the client’s treatment.
  • Assist in monitoring and reviewing all protocols and practices, including restraints, one-on-ones, and hospitalizations.
  • Actively participate in the Program Quality Improvement (PQI) program.
  • All other related duties that may be necessary to assist in managing and administering the STRTP.
