The Company: McKinley is a highly respected welfare organization with a comprehensive array of programs and services – which touch nearly 1,800 lives annually – including short term residential treatment program (STRTP), Foster Care, Adoptions, Mental Health Services, and Special Education. The Position: We are looking for a Junior Accountant, who is willing to embrace McKinley’s mission and H.U.M.A.N values. The Junior Accountant is responsible for entry level accounting tasks and general ledger entries.
Compensation and Benefits:
The pay range we’re offering is $20.00- $22.00 hourly depending (Based) on experience.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance preferred or Business related Degree required from an accredited College or University
- 2+ years related experience preferred
- Proficiency with Outlook and Microsoft Office application; especially Excel; Relevant Accounting Software; General Office Skills, Excellent written and Communication Skills
- Must be highly detail oriented and organized; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
- Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance creativity, problem solving, and results
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Able to multi-task and prioritize work effectively
- Must pass pre-employment physical exam, TB and drug screening
- Ability to commute to various sites
- Ability to lift 10 pounds for filing

Key Responsibilities:
- Follow through on commitments made to staff
- Manage general accounting tasks on the Accounting G/L Application.
- Ability to learn and manage tasks for Accounts Receivables and Payables processing and reconciliations
- Act as a liaison for vendors to reconcile any billing discrepancies / Contact vendors regarding past due accounts
- Respond to emails and/or phone calls from staff efficiently regarding check requests payment status
- Provide timely reports to McKinley’s management team
- Make Deposits daily
- Apply receipts to the correct vendor/account
- Distribute checks as directed
- Actively participate in the agency’s Program Quality Improvement (PQI) plan
- Primary responsibility is to assist with the preparation of financial statements and support schedules according to
- corporate time lines
- Assist with the monthly close procedures
- Prepare account reconciliations (cash, liabilities, fixed assets, payroll accruals) and supporting sub-ledgers
- Research and resolve account reconciling items
- Assist with preparation of audit sampling package for external & internal audits
- Support other team members as necessary
- Perform additional assignments or projects as assigned.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements
- Analyze and reconcile bank statements and general ledgers
- Process and reconcile credit card payments and statements
- Post journal entries for accrued expenses and revenue
- Assist with procurement responsibilities
- Ensuring the necessary supplies are purchased, shipped, and delivered to appropriate departments
- Preparing proposals, requesting quotes, and negotiating purchase terms and conditions
