The Company: McKinley is a highly respected welfare organization with a comprehensive array of programs and services – which touch nearly 1,800 lives annually – including short term residential treatment program (STRTP), Foster Care, Adoptions, Mental Health Services, and Special Education. The Position: We are looking for a Director of FFA, who is willing to embrace McKinley’s mission and H.U.M.A.N values. The Director shall report to the Vice President (VP) of Domestic Housing & Permanency and shall be designated as the Director for the FFA program. The Director shall work in collaboration with the VP to develop and implement strategies to hire, develop and performance manage team members. The Director shall promote services in all regions by collaborating with the Outreach team to recruit and train new families to meet census goals. Ensure that the organization is in compliance with all policies and legal requirements and that best practices are being implemented with regards to casework, and Performance and Quality Improvement Initiatives.

Compensation and Benefits:

The pay range we’re offering is $85,000- $100,000 annually depending (Based) on experience.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in social work, social welfare, marriage family and child counseling, counseling psychology or social psychology and three years experience in the field of child welfare with two or more in an administrative or managerial position,
  • Licensed post 2 years preferred
  • Word Processing; Ability to Learn Electronic Recordkeeping System
  • General Office Skills; Excellent Reading and Writing
  • Excellent Technical Skills; Virtual Platforms; Digital tasks
  • Must pass the pre-employment physical exam, TB and drug screening
  • Ability to commute to various sites
  • Ability to lift 10 pounds for filing

Key Responsibilities:

A. Regional Management

  1. Become actively involved in various community organizations in their Region to promote foster care and adoption services.
  2. Identify community resources which will benefit foster children and families.
  3. Personnel Management in conjunction with Human Resources
  4. In collaboration with VP and Human Resources, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate social workers and other staff assigned to each region.
  5. Regularly meet with social workers/supervisors and review casework to ensure compliance with organization’s treatment planning, policies, legal requirements and accreditation standards.
  6. Conduct regular FFA meetings for the purposes of staff development, problem-solving, and regional growth
  7. Regularly monitor staff caseloads numbers.
  8. Social Work tasks to support direct reports
  9. Regularly communicate with county social workers and foster parents to ensure that high standards of care are being met.
  10. Coordinate the completion and approval of adoption home studies for all prospective resource parents and updates.
  11. Directly supervise Adoption Supervisor to meet departmental goals.
  12. Actively collaborate with the Mental Health department to refer qualified children for services and monitor for effectiveness
  13. Conduct home studies as needed.
  14. Collaborate with VP to conduct safety assessments involving allegations, complaints, and matters pertaining to deficiencies and non-compliance by foster parents.
  15. Act as the administrator for the various regions

B. COMPLIANCE

  1. Ensure operations are in compliance with all regulations, organization policies, and accreditation standards.
  2. Ensure that all serious, reportable incidents, including suspected child abuse reports, are filed timely and are complete.
  3. Attend Board and/or committee meetings for the purposes of communicating serious, reportable incidents.
  4. Maintain all required documents on site including, but not limited to, CCL reports and Program Statements.

C. QUALITY IMPROVEMENT

  1. Work in collaboration with Quality Assurance staff to monitor and improve service delivery
  2. Actively participate in the agency’s Performance and Quality Improvement (PQI) plan as assigned.

D. OTHER

  1. All other related duties as assigned.
