The Position:  Oversight of all clinical interventions and subsequent documentation of the STRTP program along with the support and collaboration of the STRTP team is provided.  Provide consultation with the STRTP team and management in order to ensure that maximum service delivery and coordination is available. Provide assistance at CFTm’s to ensure treatment goals are realized with client a family voice and choice as a centerpiece of this process.

Compensation and Benefits:

The pay range we’re offering is $65,000 - $70,000 annually depending on experience.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree and Licensure by the California Board of Behavioral Services (BBS)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in DMH-contracted mental health settings
  • 3 plus years supervisory experience
  • Minimum of 2 years post licensure experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other office-related software
  • Strong analytical ability required
  • Possess superior oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Detail oriented and organized.
  • Able to work independently and organize multiple projects with minimum supervision.
  • Able to work as a team member.
  • Able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professional boundaries with clients and staff.
  • Able represent the agency professionally and appropriately with all constituencies.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical exam, TB and drug screening
  • Ability to commute to various sites on and off campus
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed
  • Ability to lift 10 pounds for filing

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • The head of service is responsible for the STRTP mental health program’s compliance with these regulations and applicable laws. The head of service shall manage the clinical and administrative components of the STRTP mental health program. The head of service’s responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to, the following specific tasks: 
  1. Maintaining a safe, healthy, and therapeutic environment at the STRTP. 
  2. Ensuring that each child admitted to the program has a mental health assessment. 
  3. Ensuring that each child in the STRTP has commonality of needs with the other children in the STRTP, including whether the child’s presence is adverse to the safety or mental health needs of the child or other children admitted to the STRTP. 
  4. Ensuring the mental health services identified on each treatment plan are provided and appropriate to meet the individual needs of the child. 
  5. Monitoring the quality of the mental health services provided to the children. 
  6. Making arrangements, including transportation, for children to receive mental health services that cannot be provided by the STRTP. 
  7. Arrangements for special provision of mental health services to children with disabilities including visual and auditory impairment. 
  8. Ensuring that documentation and recordkeeping requirements are met. 
  9. Development of mental health staff schedules, training schedules, mental health treatment service schedules, medication schedules, and any other schedules for the operation of the STRTP mental health program.
  • Ensure that the Clinical Services Department is in full regulatory compliance and that clinical services are delivered in accordance with recognized best practices and are trauma-informed.
  • Ensure and provide clinical supervision for clinical staff in accordance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards and agency policy.
  • Serve as the Head of Service for STRTP to ensure clinical service delivery to the program clients and families as needed is provided.
  • Demonstrate an ability to set limits and intervene appropriately to meet the needs of the children and families served.
  • Support the intake function of the agency by active clinical oversight of all STRTP admissions to ensure the appropriateness of placement.
  • Work with other Department managers to increase clear communication and mutual support between programs.
  • Monitor and assure adherence of programs to all governing bodies.
  • Monitor care records to assure that required treatment documentation is included and meets agency and professional standards.
  • Monitor the milieu for resident safety and work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary treatment team to develop and implement therapeutic interventions to enhance the safety of all residents.
  • Monitor and review all agency protocols and practices, including containments, one-on-ones and hospitalizations.
  • Assist Clinicians in developing treatment plans which utilize the expertise of treatment counselors, ensure quality services that are sensitive to cultural issues with a trauma informed lens.
  • Actively participate in the agency’s Process Quality Improvement (PQI) Plan.
  • Work jointly with the Quality Systems department to monitor program quality, documentation standards and outcomes and facilitate chart reviews and corrections.  
  • Assume responsibility for quality control and outcome measures as assigned.
  • Serve as a liaison with the Departments of Child and Family Services and Mental Health.
  • Hire, supervise and evaluate professional staff and cultivate effective team operation.
  • Participate in strategic planning and assist the agency in the growth of programs and services.  
  • Actively lead and initiate changes in programs as needed
  • Other related duties as assigned.
