The Company: McKinley is a highly respected welfare organization with a comprehensive array of programs and services – which touch nearly 1,800 lives annually – include short-term residential treatment program (STRTP), Foster Care, Adoptions, Mental Health Services, and Special Education. Compensation and Benefits:

The pay range we’re offering is $15.00 - $17.00 hour depending on experience.

  • BA/BS Required from an accredited 4 year University
  • Prior 2 years of Human Resources Experience Preferred
  • General Microsoft Office and Internet Competency
  • General Office Skills; Excellent Writing Skills
  • Must pass pre-employment physical exam, TB and drug screening
  • Ability to Commute to Various Sites on Campus
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Human Resources liaison and representative to assigned departments within the agency
  • Making initial offers of employment to prospective employees as needed
  • Ensure that all assigned applicants have completed pre-employment requirements such as physical examinations, Live Scan and driving records, so they may begin employment
  • Arrange for applicants to take physical examinations and Live Scan fingerprints
  • Become certified to take Fingerprint Impressions and learn how to do so
  • Facilitate the New Employee Orientation as assigned
  • Manage and ensure that all HR files are complete and contain all necessary documentation
  • Ensure that all documentation is completed and updated in accordance to Community Care Licensing policy and regulations
  • Retrieve information from files as needed
  • Input and maintain personnel information into HR Software and ensure accuracy with employee personnel files
  • Receive information from the DMV “pull” system and notifying employees and supervisors of any changes in driving status
  • Assist with following up with employees to update licenses, certificates, TB test and etc. that will be expiring
  • Arrange for employees to enroll into the company’s benefit program upon completion of the 30-Day Probationary Period
  • Maintain a professional working relationship with all levels of management within the agency
  • Learn and assist Worker’s Compensation procedures including how to handle an injured employee
  • Assist all employees with completing HR forms and any other HR related items
  • Be Knowledgeable of company’s Human Resources Policy and Procedures and direct employees as needed 
  • Ability to learn and apply relevant HR Software and prepare reports as requested 
  • Attend all required training as assigned
  • Actively participate in the agency’s Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) plan as assigned
  • Work with hiring managers on recruitment needs
  • Efficiently and Effectively fill open positions
  • Develop a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need
  • Build networks to find qualified passive candidates
  • Post openings with professional organizations and in other position appropriate venues
  • Post positions to appropriate internet sources
  • Review applicants to evaluate if they meet the position's requirements
  • Utilize the internet for recruitment
  • Conduct pre-screening interviews
  • Assist in performing reference and background checks for potential employees
  • Assist in writing and forwarding rejection letters
  • Assist in interviewing and selecting employees on site
  • Work with various departments and foster teamwork
  • To maintain highly confidential nature of human resources work
  • To travel for recruitment meetings, college visits, and career fairs and maintain a flexible work schedule
  • Be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Design plan and implement sports programs for interdepartmental tournaments
  • Provide logistical and material support for bonding activities in the organization
  • Recommend programs for approval
  • Create activities for Residential Clients
  • Maintain a positive relationship with employees
  • Other related duties as needed
